When we are surrounded in so much sound for large portions of the day, how can we decipher sound clearly.

If you have been around the young, the deaf, and the elderly, they will respond in a number of ways.

  • In the deaf, they either turn the noise off, if they can, or turn down any hearing devices.
  • The elderly will cup their ear, to try and channel the sound they want to hear to their ear.
  • The young, it may appear as behavioural, a lack of confidence, being noisy or being quiet and ultimately wanting noise cancelling earphones.

But does any of this assist in our language and speech.
