Speech and pronunciation is in the ear

It’s difficult to learn how to pronounce a phoneme or word when you can’t hear the sounds clearly. Dictations are almost impossible to get right. All communication suffers.

Often this is not a hearing problem. It can just as well be a listening problem causing speech and language delays. It can even make a child non-speaking.

The Tomatis Soundsory

Dr Tomatis demonstrated that his method immediately improved speech and voice quality to the French Academy of Medicine in 1959.

While I don’t facilitate the Tomatis Method, I do supply and facilitate the Tomatis Forbrain and Tomatis Soundsory tools for speech and language.

Forbrain® used by Speech Therapists

The Tomatis Forbrain® is used as a complementary tool by speech therapists. It is a voice and speech training device that is scientifically proven to enhance cognitive processes and outputs such as voice quality, sound discrimination, stuttering, general cognitive functioning, and reading ability. It uses bone conduction and a dynamic filter to improve voice perception for enhanced auditory processing.

Speech therapists may use the Tomatis Forbrain® in their practices to help their clients improve their speech, attention, and memory. The device sends vocal feedback to alert the brain which increases attention span, energy, and comprehension. It also aids memory by lighting up brain pathways that result in increased productivity and retention.

This enables the child to hear the sounds, words and instructions from the therapist more clearly and distinctly.
